The Filmery & Shane have a history of music videos that go back to 2011. However, Secondhand man was the first to be visualised & directed by myself. After only a few listenings I had a strong visual concept. Drawing inspiration from a photograph of the band Belle & Sebastian as well as utilizing the landscape & structures of our location I wanted to take Shane on a journey with his secondhand horse, turning the heads of quirky locals everywhere he went.

Every video made by The Filmery is always a team effort, I couldn’t have pulled this video together without our team organising the actors, costumes & props. Duncan also stepped in to Co-Direct the opening scene.

Secondhand Man was received very well, picking up nominations for an Aria Award & A Golden Guitar Award.
